One of the simplest ways that are used by many is tossing your linens and clothes into the wash with a tablespoon of salt! Yes, that’s right, the chloride helps in keeping the color in, and the fabric will be fresh for a longer period. You can also try this for rugs, scarves, and any fabric that is machine washable.

Let cold water play its role!

You can wash fabrics in cold water that will help you cut down on your bills, and to keep your fabric colors from fading. Also, you could pair the cold water with a color brightening detergent will boost your colors in the wash.

That magical liquid – White Vinegar! 

White vinegar is one of the best remedies to keep fabric colors from fading. Add ½ cup of vinegar to the wash, and the laundry will freshen up and keep the colors from fading. You could also soak dark fabrics for 30 minutes in water mixed with ½ cup of vinegar. Add 2 teaspoons of salt to help set the dyes.

Baking soda does lot more than baking cakes! 

Baking soda is a wonder to add to your laundry. It helps fabrics to maintain the brightness. Add ½ cup of baking soda during the wash cycle to see the wonder!

Save them from Sun!

Air drying is the key! If the color of your fabrics have to be well-maintained, you have to air dry by hanging them. Remember to keep them away from sunlight since the harmful rays will fade fabrics quickly.

Add black pepper for that spiciness!

Well, this one is not common and we are not talking about food here!! Spicing up the colors in your laundry by shaking a few teaspoons of black pepper into each load is going to help you maintain your fabrics. Don’t worry about flakes of pepper, it will get washed out.
